Private Client Department
Experience: Michael was originally articled to Allen and Co in Chorlton in 1970 but transferred to Oliver Harris at Nicholls, Lindsell and Harris the next year. He has spent his professional career acting for clients on a wide array of private client matters and as such is hugely respected within the Cheshire community. Michael is a member of the Society of Trusts and Estate Practitioners (STEP).

Experience: Karen specialises in estate and trust administration, powers of attorney, wills, and court of protection matters and continues to develop a strong reputation in private client work.

Experience: After completing her training contract with Watsons Solicitors in Warrington, Nicola joined Keoghs later the same year and assists the senior partner in many aspects of private client work and advises clients on a range of lifetime planning issues.

Experience: Rebecca is a solicitor specialising in commercial and residential property law. She studied for the Legal Practice Course in Chester and completed her training contract with a firm in Knutsford. She joined the firm in March and operates from our Hazel Grove office.

Experience: After completing her Training Contract with Colman Coyle Solicitors in London in 2003, Nisha specialised in residential and Commercial Property and gained invaluable post qualification experience with a West End firm before moving to Bergs Solicitors in Manchester in 2006. Nisha joined the firm in 2014 and operates from the Altrincham office.
Key areas: Sales and Purchases of Residential Flats and Houses, Re-mortgages, Transfer of Equity, Commercial Lease and the Acquisition and Disposal of Commercial Property.
Joined us: July 2012
Experience: Daniel qualified as a solicitor in July 2014. He completed his Legal Practice Course (LPC) in June 2012 and commenced his training contract with the firm in July 2012. He has spent 8 months in the Private Client department acting for clients on a wide range of matters, including: Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney and Probate. He has now moved into the Litigation department where he will be working on Community Care issues.
Housing and Civil Litigation
Joined us: John Gorner joined the firm in 2005 and became partner in 2006
Experience: John is head of our civil litigation department which includes specialist housing (landlord and tenant) and community care law teams. John acts predominantly for individuals battling against authority and his client demographic are children, the socially and economically disadvantaged and those with mental impairment. As such he often acts for the Official Solicitor.

Joined us: 2007, became Partner in 2010
Experience: Helen specialises in social welfare law and acts for tenants in all manner of disputes including; housing disrepair, rent arrears, anti-social behaviour, possession and eviction. Helen works almost entirely for clients eligible for Legal Aid and attends court daily on behalf of her clients and is a Legal Service Commission supervisor on housing matters.

Experience: Louise completed her training contract with Stephensons Solicitors and then joined Keoghs, focusing on providing legal services to clients who are homeless, have been threatened with eviction from their landlord/housing association and those who have disrepair issues in their rented accommodation. She is also a Legal Services Commission supervisor in housing matters.

Experience: Emma provides advice on an array of social welfare issues. Emma qualified as a solicitor in 2009 and joined Keoghs in the same year. She is a LSC supervisor in housing matters.

Joined us: 2013
Experience: Originally called to the Bar in 2009 and now working towards cross-qualifying as a solicitor. Rachel has worked as a County Court Advocate for the last three years specialising in mortgage repossession and debt matters arising in civil litigation. She has a strong working knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules which assists her in providing legal services to legally aided tenants in housing related matters.

Experience: Joshua qualified as a solicitor on the 15th July 2015. He joined the firm in 2010 after completing his undergraduate degree at University of Nottingham and his Masters at King’s College London. He is currently combining his training contract with his law studies at BPP in Manchester. His current training seat is in civil litigation.
